Dr. Frautschy’s work has focused on the adverse effects of chronic stress on physiology and its psychological/chemical response to an emotional reaction. She has worked on brain injury induction of neurotrophic factors where she began her collaboration with Dr. Greg Cole. In 1988, Dr. Frautschy, in collaboration with Dr. Cole, was the first to evaluate and describe the inflammatory response the brain has to human amyloid.

Dr. Frautschy is, Professor-in-Residence of Neurology, David Geffen School of Medicine and Alzheimer Research Lab Professor, Department of Medicine and Neurology at UCLA.
